KSL Radio: Grimes Supports Obama and Reid as They Attack Coal

Grimes will be an ally to the Obama agenda

Louisville, KY- Kentuckians for Strong Leadership, a section 527 Super PAC supporting Mitch McConnell for the U.S. Senate, is running a radio ad called “Soldier.” The ad links Alison Grimes and the liberal politicians she supports – Barack Obama and Harry Reid – as they gang up on Kentucky’s coal economy.

“Grimes has long supported Obama, even after she knew he had a plan to destroy Kentucky’s coal economy,” said Scott Jennings, Senior Advisor to Kentuckians for Strong Leadership. “What she says now is irrelevant. If she wins, Barack Obama, aided by Majority Leader Harry Reid, will get another two years to work together to assault Kentucky’s coal economy. A vote for Grimes is a vote to kill jobs and raise electric rates. It’s that simple,” Jennings said.

This week, the Obama Administration released new anti-coal regulations that will severely impact Kentucky, both in terms of job loss and driving up utility rates. Kentucky gets over 90% of its power from coal.

“There’s no way Kentucky’s coal economy comes out better in a world where Barack Obama and Harry Reid are still in charge together for another two years. A vote for Grimes is a vote to further enable the two most anti-coal politicians in Washington. A vote for Mitch McConnell stops Obama and Reid in their tracks. The choice is clear,” Jennings said.
