Grimes will rubberstamp Obama’s agenda in Washington
(Louisville) Kentuckians for Strong Leadership (KSL), a Section 527 Super PAC, has launched a new television ad called “Whatever.” The spot uses footage of Grimes affirming her full support for the national Democratic Party platform—the blueprint of President Obama’s agenda, including his signature health care law, more spending and higher taxes. The $270,000 ad buy is running in markets across the state on broadcast and cable.
“Alison Grimes ‘wowed’ a liberal gathering in Martha’s Vineyard last week because she has promised to support everything in Barack Obama’s platform,” said Scott Jennings, a senior advisor to KSL. “Kentuckians overwhelmingly rejected Obama’s platform in 2008 and 2012, and I predict they will do so again in 2014.”
The 2012 Democratic National Platform expressed strong support for Obamacare, more energy regulation, higher taxes on small businesses, and more spending like Obama’s failed trillion dollar stimulus package. Sen. McConnell opposed all of those Obama initiatives in the U.S. Senate.
“Alison Grimes says she’s mad about obstruction, and this ad shows why,” Jennings said. “There’s no mystery in what Alison Grimes would do as a Senator – she would vote with President Obama and Harry Reid to pass their national platform, while Mitch McConnell fights to defend Kentucky from Obama’s agenda. That bright line will make the difference next November.”
Regarding Grimes apparent flip-flopping on coal and Obamacare on Thursday, Jennings added:
“Grimes has adopted the John Kerry philosophy of being for Obama’s policies before she was against them. There’s only one thing worse than being a liberal in a race like this, and that’s being a liberal who speaks out of both sides of her mouth. Kentucky voters are too smart for that. Senators only get one chance to vote.”
